Who we are and what this policy covers

RM Life is operated by RM Life LLC, 7533 S Center View Ct, Ste R, West Jordan, UT 84084, USA. In this policy, RM Life, we, us, and our refer to RM Life LLC.

This policy covers the RM Life mobile app, rmlife.app and its waitlist, support communications, service emails, and other RM Life services that link to this policy. It does not cover a third-party service's own handling of information under that service's privacy policy.

Information we collect

• Account and profile information. Your email address, authentication provider identifiers, name, username, profile photo, account settings, age confirmation, region, time zone, and device or notification identifiers.
• Returned missionary and school profile information. If you provide it, whether you are a returned missionary or in school, mission name, mission country, return date, and related profile choices. This information can reveal religious affiliation or belief.
• Goals, planning, calendar, and notes. Goals, descriptions, categories, notes, progress, completion history, streaks, calendar events, weekly plans, event proposals, connected calendar settings, and synchronization records.
• Location and place information. If you grant permission or turn on a related feature, precise or approximate location samples, saved places, detected visits, geofences, proximity events, and live-location records. Precise location is sensitive personal information in some places.
• Android app-usage information. If you grant Android usage-access permission, app package names, app labels, usage durations, and usage sessions used to show screen-time patterns and planned-versus-actual comparisons.
• Social and shared information. Friend connections and requests, blocks, per-friend sharing settings, activity, team goals, team membership, availability, progress, shared history, calendar proposals, scan pings, reports, and notifications.
• Measurements and wellbeing information. If you enter it, weight, reading or custom measurements, mood or weekly check-in information, and notes about people from your mission. Some of this information may be considered health, religious, or other sensitive information.
• Purchases and subscriptions. Product identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, transaction or purchase history, store environment, and related subscription feedback. App stores and RevenueCat process payments. RM Life does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
• Communications. Feedback, support requests, account and subscription emails, email delivery events, safety or abuse reports, and information you send when you contact us.
• Device, diagnostics, analytics, and security information. Device and app version, operating system, language, region, feature-use counts, screen and event activity, crash reports, diagnostic details, security events, user agent, hashed or truncated network identifiers where used, audit records, and App Check or anti-abuse signals.
• Website and waitlist information. If you join the waitlist or use the website, your name, email address, page and form details, anti-bot token, and ordinary server or form-delivery logs.

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a friend's RM Life QR code. RM Life does not use that feature to upload your photos or camera roll.

Where information comes from

We receive information from you, your device and permissions, your use of RM Life, people who interact with you in RM Life, connected services such as Google Calendar, app stores and RevenueCat, and providers that help operate our website and communications.

How we use information

• create and secure your account, authenticate you, and provide customer support;
• provide goals, calendars, planning, measurements, social, location, screen-time, team, notification, export, and subscription features;
• synchronize connected Google calendars and carry out calendar changes you request;
• personalize your own experience, calculate progress and streaks, and show history and comparisons;
• process purchases, maintain entitlements, send service or reengagement messages, and operate the waitlist;
• measure account-linked feature use and app performance when analytics collection is allowed;
• detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, safety threats, and violations of our Terms of Service;
• debug, maintain, and improve RM Life; and
• comply with law, enforce our agreements, and protect users, RM Life, and others.

Our legal grounds where applicable

Where a law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to perform our agreement with you, based on your consent, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving RM Life, or to comply with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, but withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful.

Location, app usage, and other sensitive information

Location, Android app usage, measurements, wellbeing information, and returned missionary information are optional. RM Life requests device permission before collecting location or Android app usage. Background location and live-location sharing are off until you enable the relevant setting. You can deny or revoke device permissions, stop live-location sharing, disconnect a calendar, or stop entering optional information. Some features will then stop working.

If you share precise location, goals, calendar information, measurements, or other sensitive information with a friend or team, that person can view and may copy or use what you shared. Share only with people you trust. RM Life does not verify other users' identities.

Analytics and diagnostics

If analytics is enabled, RM Life uses Firebase Analytics and internal daily feature-use counts to understand which features are used. These records can be linked to your RM Life account or device and are not anonymous. RM Life also uses Crashlytics for consent-gated crash and diagnostic reporting. The app is designed to remove or avoid free-form personal content in analytics and diagnostic fields, but technical reports can still contain identifiers or contextual details.

Where the law requires it, we ask before enabling analytics, and you can change the usage-analytics setting in the app at any time. Elsewhere, analytics is enabled when you accept this policy and the Terms of Service, and you can turn it off in the same setting. Crash and diagnostic reporting is governed by your acceptance of this policy rather than by the usage-analytics setting, so turning usage analytics off does not by itself stop crash reporting. Essential authentication, security, purchase, and service records are not optional analytics and may still be processed when analytics is off.

Google account and Google Calendar data

If you connect Google Calendar, RM Life requests the Google permissions shown on the authorization screen. Depending on the permissions you grant, RM Life can list calendars, read calendar events, create or update events, delete events you direct it to delete, and store calendar identifiers, synchronization tokens, event copies, and pending changes needed for synchronization. RM Life uses this information only to provide and improve the calendar features you can see and use.

RM Life does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, data brokerage, credit decisions, or training a general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning model. People working for RM Life do not read Google Calendar data unless you give specific permission for support, access is necessary for security or abuse investigation, or access is required by law.

RM Life's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Google Calendar in RM Life and revoke RM Life's access in your Google Account. Disconnecting stops future synchronization. Calendar events previously written to your Google account remain there until you delete them from Google Calendar, and RM Life records already stored are handled under the retention and deletion sections below.

How we disclose information

• At your direction. We disclose profile, goal, calendar, activity, team, availability, or location information to friends and team members according to the feature and sharing choices you use. Your basic profile card, meaning your name, username, and profile photo, can be read by your accepted friends and by someone whose RM Life QR code you have scanned, so that person can see who they are connecting with. It is not browsable or searchable by other users.
• Vendors and platforms. We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, messaging, App Check, analytics, and crash reporting; Google for sign-in and Calendar; Google or device-platform map services for maps and place features; RevenueCat and app stores for subscriptions; Expo for app updates; Resend for service emails; Formspree for waitlist forms; and Cloudflare for website hosting and anti-bot protection. These providers process information under their own terms and our arrangements with them.
• Safety, law, and rights. We may preserve or disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect someone's safety, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and property.
• Business transfers. Information may be disclosed as part of a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or due diligence for such a transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.

RM Life does not sell personal information for money. RM Life does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not use targeted advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18 for those purposes.

Information stored on your device

RM Life stores some settings, session information, calendar and planning data, recent location or usage data, widget data, and security material on your device using platform storage, encrypted storage where configured, and app files. Clearing the app's data, deleting the app, signing out, or deleting the account can remove different portions of local data. Deleting the app alone does not delete your RM Life account or cancel an app-store subscription.

Retention

We generally keep account information and user-created content while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Live-location records are tagged to expire after about 24 hours. Raw location samples, place visits, and Android app-usage days are tagged to expire after about 182 days. Database deletion can occur after the stated period, and records with a missing or invalid expiration tag may remain until account deletion or maintenance.

RevenueCat webhook event records are generally retained for about 60 days, security-event records for about 90 days, and audit records for about 400 days. Short-lived export authorization records expire shortly after use. Some reports, unresolved security alerts, email-delivery events, feature-use counts, shared team records, and records required for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute handling may be kept longer when no shorter automated retention period applies.

Backups and provider systems may retain limited copies for a reasonable period after deletion. We may keep aggregated or deidentified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

Export and access

The export tool in Settings creates a copy of many account records, including profile, goals, calendar, friend, activity, measurement, place, location, and Android app-usage records. The automated export does not necessarily include every record held in operational, security, report, team, feedback, provider, or shared systems. You may contact us to request access to other personal information, subject to verification, legal exceptions, and the rights available where you live.

Delete your account and data

You can request account deletion in the RM Life app from Settings, or contact us at [email protected] if you cannot access the app. We may ask you to verify the request. Deleting the app from your device does not submit an account-deletion request.

Account deletion removes the main account profile and most records stored under it, including goals, calendar records, friends, sharing settings, activity, notifications, measurements, saved places, location samples, and Android app-usage days. It also releases the username after the deletion process completes.

Deletion is not absolute or instantaneous. Shared team-goal history may be preserved or archived so the remaining team has a consistent record. Reports, security records, audit logs, deletion receipts, fraud-prevention records, transaction or subscription records, records another user owns, and information required for law or disputes may be retained. App stores, Google Calendar, and other providers keep information under their own policies, and routine backups may expire later. We limit retained information to the purpose for which it is kept.

Deleting your RM Life account ends access to RM Life but may not cancel an app-store subscription. Cancel through your app-store account unless RM Life confirms cancellation.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit profile information, choose what to share, block users, disconnect Google Calendar, manage permissions in device settings, change analytics choices, export many account records, and request account deletion.

Depending on where you live and subject to exceptions, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising; and appeal a denied request. RM Life does not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To make a privacy request or appeal, email [email protected]. State the right you want to exercise and the email on your account. We will verify the request and respond within the period required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request where the law permits, but we may require proof of authority and verification from you.

Security

RM Life uses measures intended to protect information, including encrypted network connections, authentication, database access rules, anti-abuse and rate-limiting controls, access restrictions, and encryption for selected data stored on the device. No service is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account and device and for choosing carefully what to share.

Children

RM Life is an adult service. It is not directed to children, and no one under 18 may create or use an account. We ask you to confirm that you are 18 or older when you create your account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the information held under it. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, or that a child has given us personal information, email [email protected] and we will act on it.

International processing

RM Life and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers. Mandatory local rights continue to apply.

Website waitlist and communications

If you join the website waitlist, Formspree processes the form submission and Cloudflare provides website hosting and anti-bot services. We use the name and email you submit for launch or service-related waitlist communications and administration. You can ask us to remove your waitlist entry by emailing [email protected].

If analytics is on, we may compare your recent daily feature-use counts against your own earlier average and send you a single reminder email when your use drops well below it for a week. There is a long cooldown between any two such emails, and you can turn them off under Settings, then Notifications, without turning off anything else. We may also send account, security, subscription, support, and other service messages that are necessary to operate RM Life. Where we send optional marketing messages, you can use the unsubscribe method in the message or contact us. You may still receive non-marketing service messages while you have an account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as RM Life, our providers, or the law changes. We will update the date above. For a material change, we will provide notice in the app, by email, or on the website at least 30 days before it takes effect when reasonably possible. We may act sooner when needed for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance. Where consent is required for a new use, we will ask before beginning that use.
